What facilities are available to keep in touch with home while aboard a Norwegian cruise?
The majority of ships are fitted with internet cafes which are equipped with computer terminals which can be hired for a small fee. Wireless internet is now available throughout the ship on the majority of cruises. Moreover, guests may make and receive calls via a satellite connection in accordance with the current rate. Guests may be contacted directly in their cabin when an incoming call is received. Private mobile phones can be used to make phone calls and send text messages also.
What cabin options are available aboard a Norwegian cruise?
The majority of ships offer three grades of cabin: suites, outside-view cabins and interior cabins which do not have a view. Sizes usually vary from around 60 sq ft to over 5000 sq ft depending on the size of the ship. On most cruises the cabins will be more expensive and experience better service the further they are toward the top of the ship. Interconnecting cabins are often available which are ideal for families travelling onboard.
How many formal evenings will there be aboard a Norwegian cruise?
On average there are usually 2-3 formal evenings per week but some cruise operators have informal evenings throughout the cruise. It is best to check with the individual cruise operator prior to making a booking.
What clothing should be packed for a Norwegian cruise?
Aboard most cruises the dress code is casual during the day but it is usually recommended that guests cover up on exiting the pool and entering the ship. For shore excursions it is recommended that guests bring comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to cover up according to local cultures. The dress code in the evening tends to vary as to whether it is an informal or a formal evening. The dress code for informal evenings tends to be smart casual with the formal dress code being smart, requiring gentleman to wear a jacket and tie and ladies to wear a dress.
